PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE — GUEST COLUMINIST
By Pamela Stewart Fall 2015 I’m one of the volunteers who, sometimes, will answer phone calls that are forwarded to my phone from the NCF. It’s one of the easier types of volunteering because I don’t really have to move from my couch to volunteer. However, we do have to have conference calls so that we stay informed about new information. That’s turned out to be great as a lot of the questions asked of us require new knowledge. One of the more frequent questions asked has been, “Well, I know you guys have found the cause is radiation, but how in the world did I get it?” Actually, long before we actually had the cause proven, when the charity tested all members of their cohort and all tested positive, we were given the some of the answers to that when Dr. Yoshitsugi Hokama was funded by us. As a professor in medical school, he was quite popular because he was so extremely knowledgeable in his area of expertise. That’s why our own federal government used him as their expert consultant for all their agencies. He could look at one single drop of blood, examine it and, from just that single drop of blood, he was able say where the person was from in the world! Well, as our President explained to us, “not exactly” but he could tell you the blood told him if they were from the Greek Isles but not which particular Greek Isle. However, when he examined blood samples from the NCF, he found they were all exactly the same! Not only that, but when he opened up testing for patients worldwide, he found whatever “CFIDS” was, it was exactly the same no matter where the patient was from or what it was called! It didn’t matter if the patient had been diagnosed with “chronic fatigue syndrome” or “myalgic encephalomyelitis” or “post-viral fatigue syndrome”, their blood samples were identical! No wonder he was awarded the most outstanding researcher by the NCF! Although he didn’t prove the cause, he knew the exact part of the sodium channel it used and that helped when the charity wanted to see if the lead scientist from the Chernobyl disaster was right about low level radiation being the cause of this illness. And finding out the exact place of the sodium channel where it was activated was the basis that proved why so many patients had such dramatically adverse reactions to anesthesia. I had that experience, myself, when I had to have my appendix removed and I actually stopped breathing during surgery. When you stop breathing, of course, you die! The surgeon quickly got my heart to pump again. But that’s something that should never happen when you’re given general anesthesia. It completely boggles my mind that the Primer that was written recently by the International Association for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome gives an anesthesia protocol written by Charles Lapp, M.D. that is so ridiculously wrong and will do nothing to stop the resulting damage to any patient today that follows it. Why do they continue to ignore proven scientific fact? But back to the basic questions that so many callers ask: “How did I get it?” And the answer is fairly simple, too. There’s no smell to radiation so you may have just breathed it in one day and you’d never have known it. There’s no taste to radiation so you may have eaten it and not known it was in some “organic” vegetable that just happened to be rained upon by a cloud that had picked up a bit of radiation as it became heavier with condensed water it had sucked up. By now, we’ve all heard of Fukushima and we know the resulting contamination is still happening as the radiation has gotten into the ocean as well as the air. From there, it can travel wherever it wants and it can continue to just as the entire world was contaminated by the Chernobyl disaster. After all, our government set a “safe level” of radiation before Fukushima blew yet they raised their “safe level” when it became more than apparent that it would reach our country! As so many have said and this newsletter has quoted such famous people such as Dr. Helen Caldecott or even the late Dr. Albert Einstein, there is NO safe level of radiation. You don’t believe our country would lie about such things? Well, it’s 2015 and some documents and emails have been released by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) that have proven that agency actually lowered rates shown by radiation testing for years! Yes, it was against the federal EPA (Environment Protection Agency) rules, but the EPA knew about the violations and chose not to do anything about it. The TCEQ got away with this for years and years and it was only when a local Houston television station, KHOU, obtained documents and emails that the state attorney general directed them to release, that it became big news. It turned out that the water supply in Houston, and a huge area of Texas involving other towns, was contaminated with radiation for over twenty years and TCEQ, deceptively, would hide the real results as they continued to test the water for radiation. Some results showed the levels were an incredible 700 times the highest “safe level” allowed although, of course, there really is no “safe level” at all. They lied for so many years that the water pipes, themselves, became radioactive! Eventually, even scrap yards found they had to reject scrap metal from water tanks and pipes. Meanwhile, the actual journalist that first exposed this story for KHOU was reassigned to New York and, eventually, to Europe. If that was covered up, does anyone really think there haven’t been “accidents” that happen from every nuclear plant? For that matter, you can’t bury radiation so that it will cease to exist which means that if you step outside during one particular rain or snow storm or simply breath the air on one particular beautiful and sunny day, you could, unknowingly, be poisoning yourself yet it could very well be something that won’t really show up for years. Has anyone not heard about Fukushima? The New York Times was not allowed to let their readers know the amounts of cesium and other radiation that is still a problem that has actually worsened to this day. Even scientists were barred from giving true data! The documents of our own government were ordered secretive so the public would not fear contamination. And, yes, the problem was and remains even larger than Chernobyl and the dangers all around the world have, due to Fukushima, gotten larger. Natural News reported that an “epidemic of sea mammal deaths explodes as Fukushima radiation contaminates one-third of the earth.” And yes, Chernobyl still is highly radioactive and the expensive and massive sarcophagus that is supposed to cover it is not yet in place today. The forest areas that surround Chernobyl are huge and when a wildfire breaks out, radiation is, once again, released into the atmosphere. Today, in 2015, the dangers from Fukushima not only still exist but are larger than when the mishap first occurred. Japan’s government was warned about the dangers of putting any nuclear reactors in a place where there are earthquake fault lines or are prone to tsunamis and there’s a documentary you can watch on your computer called “2014 HD Nuclear Exodus: Pandora’s Promise Was A Lie.” More than 300 tons of radioactive water continues to flow into the Pacific on a daily basis today. There are still thousands and thousands of spent fuel rods on the site. The reactors that blew at Fukushima were made by General Electric and there are many built exactly alike in the U.S. The industry assured people that they were safe yet there has been thirty times more Cesium 137 than was released when we bombed Hiroshima. If you got sick before Fukushima blew, an even better explanation can be found by going to the Rocky Flats YouTube at www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZmV7CIS-Iw. That video is a repeat of Frontline that was published on August 2nd, 2015 and was previously aired on the Public Broadcasting Syndstem about the secrets of an atomic bomb factory. The story of Rocky Flats first aired on October 26th, 1993 yet the people involved are, to this day, still fighting for the truth to be admitted and for our government to be truthful. Frontline explains, “The bomb factory has since been decommissioned and transferred to the Fish and Wildlife Service as a wildlife refuge. Many people who are privy to the plants history are concerned over the Fish and Wildlife’s plan to open the refuge to the public. Since the transfer of the land as a wildlife refuge was made, the history of the plant has been largely forgotten and several housing developments are springing up around the highly contaminated site… Wes McKinley didn’t know what he was getting into when, in 1990, he was chosen to be a foreman of a special grand jury investigating potential crimes at the Rocky Flats nuclear weapons plant in Colorado. But what McKinley and the other grand jurors learned in their two-and-one-half years of listening to testimony and examining other evidence disturbed them enough to risk prosecution themselves by going public. FRONTLINE examines what the grand jury learned and what led to their rebellion.” There are dozens of other laboratories and former bomb factories in the United States. There is no known way to rid any of them of the radiation contamination. Perhaps you were one of the many victims of Chernobyl. That site still seethes with radiation and their lead scientist that is still at work today, Konstantin Loganovsky, M.D., Ph.D., has attributed low dose radiation to be the causal effect of CFIDS/ME since the early years of the 2000’s when one of his articles appeared in the medical Journal of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. That fact is expected to be verified once again by the radiological expert currently funded by the National CFIDS Foundation. Yet our country’s atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War ll gave off much more radioactive poison that will last for at least a million more years. Were you one of over 150,000 who signed a petition that was submitted to the United Nations in 2013 demanding that Fukushima be taken over by a world community? No response has been given since November 7th, 2013. The industry had assured Japan that the American reactors in their country were safe for a half a century before the four General Electric reactors blew up in Japan. And, yes, the United States has done the same things and worse in our own country. In California, Diablo Canyon reactors were built in a zone known to be an area for tsunamis and earthquake faults. Their cooling system violates state and federal water quality regulations as they dump massive quantities of radioactive liquid into the Pacific Ocean which has already killed billions of sea life. The owners are known to have broken the law in many areas without consequence. Earthquakes have previously damaged two reactors in Ohio and Virginia. In fact, the earthquake in North Anna, Virginia also damaged our capitol’s Washington Monument! Earthquakes are no hazard to some other reactors yet freezing temperatures are. Just one example of that is Ohio’s Davis-Besse reactor where the concrete is actually crumbling. And while we can go on and on about reactors, we must not forget the many victims of Three Mile Island and the many scientists, including the late and great Dr. Sternglass who kept giving the public the truth. This past March was the 40th anniversary of the Brown’s Ferry fire when workers, using a candle to check for air leaks, set fire to over 1600 electrical cables that burned out of control for nearly eight hours. The Tennessee Valley Authority narrowly averted a catastrophic nuclear meltdown by, as one official stated, “sheer luck”! Indeed, the Browns Ferry Unit 1, 2 and 3 are boiling reactors that were made by General Electric (GE) and are identical to the units that melted down in Japan’s Fukushima Daichi unit four years ago. And, in early August, it was the 70th anniversary of Hiroshima’s and Nagasaki’s bombing in Japan by our country. We were the very first country to ever use an atom bomb that was made possible by radiation. Just days after the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombings’ 70th anniversaries in August of 2015, Japan began to power up a 30-year old nuclear reactor despite strong opposition. The real answer to those people who ask how they got “it” is usually unknown. The only truth that applies is that they were just plain unlucky. The real question remains, “What can be done about it?” and, indeed, that is why this charity, who knows the cause, still exists! There are no employees at the NCF. I’m a volunteer but so is everybody else in this charity. They, like me, want to “lose” their job and all hope that the research they’re now funding will lead them to a therapy. They don’t use fancy talk like the renamed CAA that is now Solve ME/CFS Initiative. Heck, that group even supports renaming this illness SEID that makes it a psychosomatic entity! Their new head, aptly named Carol Head, recently wrote, “On Feb. 10, 2015, the Institute of Medicine released a landmark report that contained a series of recommendations for ME/CFS, one of which called for the name to be changed to Systemic Exertion Intolerance Disease (SEID). While the name has not yet been formally adopted by world and federal health agencies, we will incorporate it into our communications where appropriate.” One thing they’ll never mention is radiation. They want to stay as far away from the truth as is possible. That’s not what is best or even honest for patients, but they’ve never had a problem hiding the truth. Heck, they even brag that they haven’t accepted government money for the last few years! But, as the above quote illustrates, they certainly aren’t in this game to help any patients. They must have been so happy when our own CDC called “post-exertional malaise” the “hallmark of CFS”. Unfortunately, that is far, far from the truth since a slow progression toward cancer seems quite a bit worse than having “malaise” a day or two following an activity but our government still backs up that charity as long as they continue to stay far away from the truth. God bless America! No wonder several researchers have found that our blood is fluorescent! The Physicians for Social Responsibility said, in August of this year, “With nuclear weapons, complete elimination is the only option for survival.” Joshua Krause, a reporter, writer and reporter, reported, “Researchers from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln have just completed a comprehensive analysis of roughly 275,000 water samples from 62,000 locations across the United States. These samples were mostly derived from two massive underground aquifers that supply drinking water for millions of people, and what they reveal about the safety of drinking water in America is absolutely horrifying. They found that the parts of the High Plains Aquifer (also often referred to as the Ogallala) is saturated with uranium at a level that is 89 times higher than the EPA’s safe limit. The southern half of California’s Central Valley was even worse, with a uranium concentration that is 180 times higher than the EPA’s ‘maximum contaminant level.’” Like all members, I’m quietly praying that the NCF-funded researchers will get there soon. I was excited when I read they’ve funded a world famous radiation expert. We know there’s no cure for what we have but a treatment seems possible and the NCF has been following the truth to get us there. Join me in praying that happens soon. Pamela has volunteered for the NCF since our inception in 1997. |
